GIRL SCOUTS.... BRAVE AND ADVENTUROUS

Lots of laughs, giggles, smiles and a few sore shoulders, but there is definitely some natural talent for Team Roping among the Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus-Pine Troop #1489.  All the girls were a little nervous to start with but once they got the glove on their right hand and were taught to hold, swing and coil a head rope we moved over to the dummies where we teach everyone to rope on the ground.  The girls also learnt the Team Ropers name for these dummies, "The Bones".

Once the girls got the hang of swinging and recoiling the ropes we had some fun competitions among them.  At that time there were many many more laughs and giggles  .......   then they did a rope-off to see who got to ride the horses first.  Of course they picked the horses by the looks and color.   When all the girls were mounted on the horses we soon learnt that we had all different levels of riding abilities but all the Girl Scouts did very well.  They all continued to ride for another hour with many smiles and there were a few Girl Scouts that didn't want to go home, they were having so much fun.

I would like to say "Great Job" and thank the girls and the fearless leader, Andrea Stegman, for wanting to try something new.  They were brave and adventurous and we welcome them back to Team Rope soon.   .....  and bring cookies Smile
